NCUE Placed 14th for Liberal Arts in GVM Best University Rankings

According to the 2020 Rankings for Taiwan's Top Universities published by the Global Views Monthly (GVM), NCUE is placed at 14th in the category of Liberal Arts and 8th among national universities. NCUE is second to National Taiwan Normal University in terms of teacher cultivation institutions.
The GVM's rankings include four categories (comprehensive, liberal arts, technology and vocation, and private). The GVM has been conducting the rankings for five years.

Since 2018, Global Views Monthly has been collecting public information through Global Views Research, and adopting the data from Scopus and SciVal for academic essay statistics. It also takes UN's SDGs into account as UK's ranking institution Times Higher Education (THE) does and uses the numbers of University Social Responsibility (USR) Project sponsored by the Ministry of Education (MoE) of each university for evaluation. In addition, teaching performance accounts for 15 percent of the ranking score, observing whether a candidate's teaching strikes a balance between local features and international trends.

The THE's World University Impact Rankings uses the indicators under UN's 17 SDGs to analyze a university's impact on society. There are 766 universities in 85 countries listed on the 2020 rankings, and NCUE lies in 66th position overall and second in Taiwan.
