KSU and NCUE Discuss Dual-degree Program, Adding Opportunity for Students to Get Joint Degrees

Right after NCUE and Kennesaw State University (KSU) in Georgia, U.S. concluded a partnership agreement, Dr. Svetlana Peltsverger, the interim Associate Dean of the College of Computing and Software Engineering at KSU, paid a visit to NCUE discussing the establishment of dual-degree programs with the Department of Computer Science and Information Engineering. When the agreement has been officially reached, the collaboration will enable NCUE to offer students another opportunity of seeking Taiwan-US joint degrees.

The Southern Polytechnic State University (SPSU), now a college under KSU, became NCUE’s partner school back in 2010, and then from there they established a dual-degree program in Computer Science. In 2015 SPSU consolidated into KSU, thus, NCUE and KSU reexamined the prior established partnership, as well as the dual-degree programs. The graduate “1+1”dual-degree program is basically ready to launch. The follow-up discussion between two universities is about the bachelor“2+2”dual-degree program.

A team of superintendents, under the lead of Dr. Peltsverger from KSU, paid NCUE campus a visit and expressed their appreciation to NCUE President Yen-Kuang Kuo for facilitating the collaboration between both universities and invited President Kuo to pay KSU a visit. President Kuo indicated that NCUE will actively promote the programs and he looks forward to KSU students coming to study at NCUE.

KSU is a comprehensive university located in Atlanta, an international metropolis in southern U.S.A. It is the third-largest university in the state, offering more than 150 undergraduate, graduate and doctoral degrees to its 35,000+ students. According to KSU, it is estimated that studying at KSU for dual-degree programs will only cost an NCUE student about half the amount compared to the cost of other study abroad programs.
