The relationships between NCUE and the“New Southbound Policy” countries have become increasingly close in recent years. President Tran Tho Dat of National Economics University (NEU), one of NCUE’s partner universities in Vietnam, led a delegation to visit NCUE discussing future cooperation projects, such as teacher training, promotion of Chinese language, distance education, administrative management, etc. President Tran Tho Dat also invited NCUE faculty to visit NEU.

NEU was founded in 1956. It is one of the leading universities in Economics, Public Management and Business Administration, as well as a prestigious research and consultation center for the policy making of governments and the development of businesses. NEU’s alumni include a Minister, a Deputy Prime Minister, the Director of General Statistics Office and CEOs of numerous multinational and major domestic corporations. It currently offers training to nearly 45,000 students annually. NCUE and NEU have become partner universities since 2014.

President Tran Tho Dat expressed his expectation that both institutions extend the cooperation and mutual exchange by replicating the project done last year that NEU EMBA students came to NCUE for short-term studies. In the field of teacher training, NEU expects to develop distance education with NCUE’s assistance, including curriculum planning, teaching material designing, computer application and the establishment of evaluation mechanism. Expecting to set up a Chinese Language Center, NEU looks forward to qualified teachers provided or trained by NCUE. Also, NEU is planning to send the administrative superintendents over to study for the development of a digital system to enhance the efficiency of HR and facility management.
