The Times Higher Education (THE) released the annual Asia University Rankings for 2019 recently. NCUE joins the rankings for the very first time with its place in the 301-350 bracket.

There are 32 universities in Taiwan on the list. National Taiwan University comes first among them, while NCUE, along with National Chung Cheng University and I-Shou University, ranks 17^th, indicating that NCUE’s quality teaching and research are well recognized worldwide.

The THE Asia University Rankings use the same 13 carefully calibrated performance indicators as the World University Rankings do, judging research-intensive universities across all their core missions: teaching, research, knowledge transfer and international outlook. However, the weightings are specially recalibrated to reflect the priorities of Asian institutions. The 2019 edition of the Rankings evaluated more than 400 universities from 27 countries and areas. NCUE’s ranking debut that surpasses most other universities in Asia indicates that NCUE aiming for high quality in its teaching and research has been able to achieve competitive advantages over many universities around the world.

NCUE’s overall positions in world university rankings are going upward, making it one of the leading institutions in Taiwan.
