NCUE Places 66th in 2020 World University Impact Rankings, 2nd among 24 Taiwanese Universities Listed
The Times Higher Education (THE) recently released the latest University Impact Rankings, in which NCUE increased in rank from the 101-200 bracket to 66th place in 2020. NCUE took the second spot, next to National Cheng Kung University in the 38th position, among the 24 Taiwanese universities listed in the rankings. They were followed by National Taiwan University and Tunghai University ranking among the top 200 of the world.
THE University Impact Rankings measures the social and economic impact of universities based on the United Nations’ 17 sustainable development goals (SDGs), such as No Poverty, Zero Hunger, Quality Education, Gender Equality, Affordable and Clean Energy, Sustainable Cities and Communities, Climate Action, and Reduced Inequalities.
NCUE came in top 100 in six SDGs, including Affordable and Clean Energy (2nd overall, 1st in Taiwan), Life on Land (20th overall, 1st in Taiwan), Life below Water (20th overall, 2nd in Taiwan), Clean Water and Clean Energy, Zero Hunger, and Reduced Inequalities.
NCUE’s impressive ranking results can be attributed to the persistent efforts made by the faculty and students over the past half-century, as well as her development strategies involving globalization, sustainable operation and social responsibility, which have helped fulfill her commitment to humanistic care in recent year and earned international recognition.
