OCSA Extends Chinese New Year Greetings to Students

The Overseas Chinese Student Association (OCSA) at NCUE hosted the Chinese New Year gala in early March. NCUE President Yen-Kuang Kuo distributed the “red envelopes” to the students and extended belated New Year greetings to them. The students were thrilled. In remarks President Kuo detailed the construction projects that are expected to be completed by the end of his term of office to provide a better learning environment and service for students. He expressed his hope that all the overseas students could have a great time at NCUE with the assistance from the Office of International and Cross-strait Affairs (OICA).

There are more than 220 overseas students at NCUE from Malaysia, Hong Kong, Macao, Indonesia, Myanmar and other 11 countries and regions. Chinese New Year gala is one of the annual events hosted by OCSA.

According to President Kuo, some of the construction projects set out during his first four-year term. It is expected that all of them are accomplished in the rest of his second term. The construction includes a multipurpose activity center on the east side of the Baisha Building, an indoor heated swimming pool in front of the rock climbing wall, the 10th student dormitory on Baoshan campus, the second buildings for the College of Science and the Department of Chinese, a new main front gate of Baoshan campus, and automatic hardware and software facilities, such as campus mobile APP.

President Kuo complimented the students on their being active and enthusiastic. Being together with them or joining their activities make him feel great. He indicated that the students from all over the world are welcome to join NCUE family so that the students can explore the differences in cultures and learn from each other.
