Two Normal Universities from Shandong and Zhejiang Visit NCUE in Succession

Shandong Normal University (SDNU) and Zhejiang Normal University (ZJNU), two of NCUE’s partner universities in Mainland China, came to visit NCUE in November 2017 and had a conversation with their exchange students at NCUE, sharing their learning and living experience in Taiwan. Both universities participated in the Fifth Forum for Presidents of Normal Universities in the Greater China Region hosted by NCUE in 2016. They expressed their hope of deepening the collaboration with NCUE, including conducting joint research projects, holding joint conferences, and inviting President Yen-Kuang Kuo to pay a visit to the Mainland.

The ZJNU delegation was led by the Vice President Hui Wang. NCUE Vice President Ming-Fei Chen hosted the welcoming meeting. NCUE and ZJNU built a partnership in 2015. NCUE Vice President Chen once led a group to visit there in March 2017. Currently there are two ZJNU exchange students studying in the Graduate Institute of Sports and Health and the Department of Special Education at NCUE.

The SDNU delegation was led by Vice President Wen-Xin Zhang. Dean Cindy Huang of NCUE Office of International and Cross-strait hosted the reception. NCUE and SDNU, the first NCUE’s partner university in the Mainland, have had close interaction since they established the partnership in 2014. For example, the Vice Presidents of the two institutions visited each other’s campus in April and June 2017. There have been close to 200 exchange students in total from SDNU studying at NCUE since the partnership was established, while NCUE has sent the students to the summer camp hosted by SDNU every year.

The visitors later met with their exchange students respectively to share students’ experience at NCUE. NCUE won their recognition for its learning environment and assistance for students.
