Based on Encouraging Experience, Longyan University V.P. Hopes to Extend Cooperation with NCUE.

A delegation led by Vice President Wei-Tung Tsou of Longyan University, which is one of NCUE’s Partner Universities in Mainland China, visited NCUE in early December. Both sides exchanged views on future cooperation in the fields of teacher training, sports rehabilitation, special education and innovation and entrepreneurship. NCUE and Longyan have been sharing teaching and research resources for two years. Longyan students have also benefited from positive experiences of exchange studies at NCUE. Both institutions look forward to furthering cooperation in the future.

Longyan University was established as a teacher’s college in 1958, then transformed into a university in May 2004. It covers seven academic fields with eleven colleges, forty-eight undergraduate programs and more than ten thousands of students. NCUE built a partnership with Longyan In 2014. There have been frequent and close interactions between the two institutions, such as exchange visits of faculty, and exchange studies of Longyan students in Finance.

Aside from Vice President Tsou, the delegation members of Longyan University consisted of the Dean of the Office of Cooperation and Exchange, the Dean of the Chimai College, the Director of Assessment Office, etc. According to Vice President Tsou, Longyan students in Finance gave positive responses to their exchange experiences at NCUE. NCUE’s quality faculty are highly recognized for devoting to teaching and building close relationships with students. The students from Longyan always looked forward to going to classes. They usually felt sad and were reluctant to say goodbye when their exchange studies came to an end.

Based on students’ positive exchange experiences and the NCUE’s advantages that meet the needs of Longyan’s development, Vice President Tsou expressed his hope to further extend the cooperation to the fields of elderly care, special education, product design, sports rehabilitation, innovation and entrepreneurship, teacher education, and so on. It is expected that more Longyan students would come to share NCUE’s diverse teaching resources developed via long-term industry-academia cooperation experience by participating in the workshops and hands-on courses, and corporate visits, etc.

During the idea exchange meeting hosted by NCUE Vice President Ming-Fei Chen, both side widely compared notes about the above-mentioned issues. Vice President Tsou also invited NCUE President Yen-Kuang Kuo to visit Longyan to strengthen academic exchange and cooperation between the two institutions.
