NCUE Overseas Chinese Student Association (OCSA) hosted a farewell party for the new graduates from abroad. NCUE President Yen- Kuang Kuo attended the party and expressed his hope that the students’ past 4 years at NCUE have been memorable. On behalf of the new graduates, Mine-Tiang Wong expressed her appreciation to the teachers and the Office of International and Cross-Strait Affairs (OICA) for enriching her university life. Their junior schoolmates from OCSA gave their blessings through video clips, creating a warm atmosphere at the event. 

President Kuo used to study in America, so he knows what it’s like to be leaving school. He indicated that he was touched whenever attending the farewell party hosted by OCSA, and was proud of students’ performance at the event. He expressed his hope that schooling at NCUE is the most memorable experience in overseas students’ lives. According to President Kuo, NCUE will keep improving the learning environment to offer a pleasant experience for the students from different countries. He wished all the graduates a splendid future.

OICA Dean Cindy Huang stated that it is luck by which overseas Chinese students from different countries are brought together to NCUE. Especially since president Kuo took office 7 years ago, the number of overseas Chinese students has multiplied. NCUE alumni are all over the world. She hopes that the graduates stay in touch and get together someday. Dean Huang added, OICA witnessed how the OCSA went through the difficulties in organizing activities during the past 4 years. They seemed like nightmares, but turned out well. She encouraged the new graduates not to be afraid of challenges in their careers because they all are from NCUE!

When giving a speech, Ming-Tiang Wong in Special Education expressed her appreciation for the support and concern from NCUE faculty and OICA for the overseas Chinese students, facilitating their adaptation to the new environment and their studies in Taiwan. She especially felt thankful for OCSA members’ company during the four years. When working for OCSA, the members had mutual respect despite the fact that they often had arguments over issues when organizing activities. It is a wonderful experience making her university life even more brilliant. 

A cadre handover ceremony that passes down OCSA’s tradition was held. At the end of the event, OCSA junior members expressed their blessings for the new graduates by playing a video clip recorded earlier, creating an atmosphere of subtle sorrow of parting.
