Vice President Jie Yang of Guilin University of Aerospace Technology (GUAT), an NCUE's partner university in Mainland China, led a group to come visit in hopes of deepening the long-term collaboration with NCUE. They paid a visit to the exchange students from GUAT as well. NCUE Vice President Ming-Fei Chen expressed his hope to extend the collaboration in the long run from student exchange to faculty exchange based on the mutual needs of both universities.

Founded in 1979, GUAT is known for the disciplines of engineering related. It became one of NCUE's partner universities in June 2015. There are three exchange students from GUAT studying at NCUE this semester.

At the welcome meeting hosted by Vice President Chen, GUAT Vice President Yang indicated that the culture and languages of Mainland are homologous with those of Taiwan. GUAT expects to keep up with global trends by means of deepening the relationship with NCUE, whose development in recent year has been driven by internationalization. Through the campus tour, he recognizes NCUE's ideal of education, service and innovation that serves as a good example for GUAT. Vice President Yang invited Vice President Chen and NCUE’s faculty to visit GUAT to gain further understanding of it.

Then the exchange students from GUAT shared their learning experience at NCUE with Vice President Yang. The classes taught in English, the close interaction between the teacher and students in class, the teamwork and collaboration for group projects, the idea of learning autonomy, the course selection with few restrictions from a wide range of curriculum, and the integration of academia and practice impress them the most. Vice President Yang expects that, through blending into local students, the students seize the opportunity of studying at NCUE that possesses the advantage of internationalization to cultivate the capability of interpreting things from different perspectives.
