Professor from Korean Yeungnam University Visits NCUE

Mr. Ching-hsin Kung, a 73rd-generation descendant of Confucius and retired professor of Yeongnam University in South Korea, came to visit in May 2021 and exchanged views with NCUE President Ming-fei Chen on facilitating exchanges between the University and Korean universities. Many of NCUE's partner universities in Korea have always been popular for NCUE students to study on exchange. It is expected that Professor Kung helps NCUE build a bridge for cooperation and exchange with more Korean universities.

Professor Kung has lived in Korea for decades and is well versed in the local culture and academic environment. He provided valuable ideas on the relationship development with Korean universities, as well as exchanged opinions with President Chen on academic innovation, school governance, and global epidemics. Dean Melody Wen of the NCUE International Office was also present at the meeting.

As a descendant of Confucius, Professor Kung often participates in Confucian worship activities in Taiwan. He once visited NCUE during the early years of NCUE history. Mr. Ling-chun Kung, a 76th generation descendant of Confucius, and his wife came along this time and, accompanied by President Chen, attended the opening of the Railway Culture Exhibition organized by the Department of Chinese.
